Scanning Electron Microscopic Study on Formation of Sutural Surface of the Mouse Sagittal Suture

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to investigate the morphology of the sagittal suture in the mouse by scanning electron microscope. For this study, sixty ICR mice of the 4, 6, 8, 14 and 56 days of age were used.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. Interdigitation of the superior margin gradually became intense from anterior to the posterior region.
2. Interdigitation of the inferior margin remained entirely poor.
3. Bone remodeling was vigorous on most of suture surface.
4. Many fiber bundles were embedded in the resting surface. Inferior region of the sutural surface indicates a resting surface with a few fiber bundles.
